Tax Form Questions

Where can I download Form W-4 for 2026?

Use the Download PDF button in the W-4 section above. It opens the official 2026 Form W-4 directly from IRS.gov. Employees give the completed form to their employer; it is not sent to the IRS.

Who needs to fill out a Form W-9?

U.S. independent contractors, freelancers, vendors, and landlords you pay in the course of business should give you a signed Form W-9. It provides the taxpayer identification number you need to file Form 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC for them.

What is the difference between Form 1099-NEC and Form 1099-MISC?

Form 1099-NEC reports nonemployee compensation, such as payments of $600 or more to independent contractors for services. Form 1099-MISC reports other payments such as rent, royalties, prizes and awards, and attorney proceeds.

Can I print Form 1099 from this page and mail it to the IRS?

No. Copy A of Forms 1099 and 1096 printed from IRS.gov is for information only and cannot be scanned by the IRS. Order official scannable forms from the IRS or file electronically. Copies B, C, 1, and 2 can be printed and given to recipients.

When do I have to e-file 1099 forms?

If you file 10 or more information returns in a calendar year, counting all types combined (such as 1099s and W-2s), the IRS requires you to file them electronically. AD Transactions can e-file all of your 1099s and W-2s for you.

Are these the latest versions of the forms?

Yes. Every link opens the current form directly from IRS.gov, so you always receive the most recent revision the IRS has published.

Not sure which form you need?

AD Transactions prepares and e-files W-2s and every type of 1099, collects W-9s from your vendors, and sets up employee W-4 withholding as part of payroll.
